Volunteers Beverley Brand and Jacqueline Koscil are setting up a new “Dusty Donkey” thrift store, scheduled to open Aug. 7 behind Waikoloa Stables.

Proceeds will benefit the Waikoloa Dry Forest Initiative (WDFI), a nonprofit working to preserve and restore a 275-acre native Hawaiian dry forest ecosystem.

Monetary donations are welcome for shop upgrades, and resellable items can be dropped off, excluding appliances or furniture.
