To move forward the leadership transition at Waimea Middle Public Conversion Charter School, interested community members, families, faculty, staff and students of Waimea Middle School are invited by the Local School Board Hookakoo Corp. to participate in a facilitated work group planning session from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 31 in the school cafeteria.
The all-day work group will review academic accomplishments and needs, current school programs and chart new opportunities for Waimea Middle School students, said Hookakoo Corp. in its invitation to all stakeholders. Hookakoo Corp. says the recommendations of this work group will be incorporated in the current leadership search and the school’s academic improvement plan and budget for coming years.
Friday, March 23 is the deadline to express interest in participating in the March 31 work group meeting, which will be the first of a series of meetings between now and the end of the school year. Hookakoo Corp. hopes to recruit 10 family members, 10 community members and 10 faculty and staff, plus three students and several educational experts to participate in a transition process that will lead to the re-formation of a local advisory panel. The letter of invitation, application to participate and more explanation of the school’s leadership transition process are posted on the school’s website: www.WaimeaMiddleSchool.org under “Leadership Transition.” For more information, call the school’s interim Principal Mrs. Lydia Trinidad (887-6090 Ext. 225) or email [email protected], or call Hookakoo Corp. Executive Director Megan McCorriston (938-3835).
