Volunteers are needed at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 20 and following the sale on Saturday afternoon. Books, CDs and DVDs can be dropped off at North Kohala Public Library until March 20 and baked goods at the Kohala School Cafeteria the day of the sale. BIRTHING A BETTER FUTURE: 9 a.m., March 20, 21 and 22, Hawi. The non-profit Barefoot Doctors’ Academy offers a “Postpartum Doula Certification” program by authors Suzanne Arms and Salle Webber. Women will be trained to care for new families in the first weeks after birth. The academy offers scholarship programs with priority for Hawaii residents who have demonstrated a commitment to community service.
