Starting May 12, Anna Ranch Heritage Center in Waimea will conduct a docent training series, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., on three consecutive Saturdays, May 12, 19 and 26. The center is seeking interpretive guides who are interested in preserving and sharing paniolo traditions. Docents will learn the craft of interpreting and sharing historical information with the public. According to the Anna Ranch Heritage Center, it was Anna Lindsey Perry-Fiske’s desire that her ranch home would one day become an educational arena to perpetuate the early history of ranching in Hawaii. For more information about the docent training, including how to sign up, please contact Maka Wiggins, volunteer coordinator at 885-4426 or e-mail [email protected].
