On March 5, veterinarian Jenny Brundage of Ahualoa Alpaca visited Honokaa High and Intermediate School ag classes to talk about the alpaca, related to lamas, that she raises in North Hawaii. Her talk included how to care for and feed the animals, as well as their diet, pasture requirements, and shearing well-suited to Hawaii pastures with fleece that is key to the industry. Ag teacher Manuel Jadulang brings different speakers to classes to show students diverse career options in agriculture as a farmer, rancher or vet.
