Residents celebrated the sugar plantation history at the second annual Hamakua Sugar Plantation Days Festival on Aug. 22 in Honokaa. The day-long event centered around the Historic Rickard House, and a range of cultures that comprise Honoka’a’s sugar plantation roots.
